Saul Rodriguez, Esq., passed the February 2020 California Bar Examination

Had it not been for Steven, I don't know if I would have passed on my second try.  In fact, I really do believe that had I hired Steven the for my first try, I likely would've passed!

A.L., Esq., Santa Clara Grad, passed the February 2020 California Bar Examination

Steven has cracked the code on the California bar exam. I walked into the bar confident and prepared. As I was taking the exam, the issues on the essays jumped out at me. The performance test was a format I had seen before. The answers on the multiple choice were clear. A combination of Steven’s essay review week, unique MBE tricks, customized study calendar, thoughtful feedback, and his WINNIN’ TIME! (my new favorite book for black letter law) demystified the bar. On top of teaching a program that really works, Steven is an inspiring coach.

According to the General Bar Exam Pass Rate Summary, the 26.8% result is the lowest pass rate in at least 69 years.  The document reports back to the Fall 1951 exam, and today's result is the lowest pass rate reported.  The only other exams with a pass rate lower than 30% was February 2018 (27.3%), Spring 1986 (28.1%), Spring 1984 (29.5%), and Spring 1983 (27.7%).

Scott Kalter, Esq., passed the July 2017 Cal Bar Exam

I highly recommend Steven Harris' program for the California Bar Examination, whether it's your 1st time or your 5th time.  In fact, his materials will give you an advantage in any jurisdiction.

Hello everyone!

Great news tonight for more Cal Bar Exam applicants this year.  49.6% passed July 2017, which is a 6% increase year over year from July 2016.

Why?

One indicator, surprisingly enough from a nationwide perspective, was a nationwide (and California) INCREASED score on the MBE.

From July 2013-2016, MBE scaled scores have been trending DOWN significantly.

CALIFORNIA SCALED SCORES

July 2013  1459

July 2014  1435

July 2015  1424

July 2016  1421

Cal Bar Exam changes for July 2017 - you can care now

Oct

Hello everyone!

I last wrote that Cal Bar was going to change the exam in July 2017 and that applicants should not care about it.  At the time, that advice was correct since inexplicably the Bar voted to make the change on the day before the July 2015 Cal Bar Exam.

Now that the exam has come and went, we can consider the impact of the changes to the exam.  So... what's changing?

Currently, the Cal Bar has the following components:

Tuesday:  3 1-hour essays in the morning, and one 3-hour PT in the afternoon
